My Priorities
I have had wonderful conversations with many of our community members throughout the city since announcing my candidacy. These are the key topics that are often discussed.
Numerous citizens with varied opinions on issues from our airport expansion to the homeless population to the general condition of our roads mention that they are comfortable bringing their concerns to me. They trust that I would address each concern fairly.
Living in north Texas, we have our fair share of potential catastrophic events from tornados to droughts. Recent disasters in other states bring awareness for the need of a well prepared city. Our ever-increasing density puts more stress on our aging infrastructure. To properly maintain our roads alone, it will take a great share of incoming revenue. If we do not properly plan, a future city council will be forced to raise taxes which will be a burden to our citizens.
A common temptation at every level of government is to prioritize potential revenue generation and flashy initiatives at the taxpayers' expense, neglecting the long-term impact on the quality of life for residents. My approach is to support revenue-generating opportunities that directly improve the well-being of every citizen and maintain the financial health of McKinney.
Cast your vote for a candidate that will value your concerns on Saturday May 3rd or during early voting April 22nd-29th.
